SKIN

OUR IMPERFECTIONS ARE OUR PERFECTION.

The Skin photographic project delves into the shared experiences of our local community, exploring the parallels between the natural environment and human bodies.

This project looks deeply into the issues and unspoken world of vulnerability, shame, and acceptance related to images of the body.

The photographic representations of the human body resonate with our shared humanity, exploring themes of physical imperfections.

The photographer has captured subjects from within the Cairns community, presenting their stories through anonymous images emphasising imperfection's beauty.

The project aims to foster community resilience and drive social change through photography, focusing on themes that uplift community spirit, develop a shared narrative, and promote inclusion. SKIN explores images of the human body to encourage self-acceptance and self-worth within the unrealistic picture-perfect artificial intelligence (Al) era.

This project is a testament to the transformative power of art.

It represents the photographer's ongoing dedication to using art as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue and societal transformation.

SKIN is an ongoing project with the aim of creating a book in the future.

To those who feel called to express themselves and share their stories, we encourage you to keep reaching out.
